Edmund the squirrel and Luzie the bear cub grow up as brother and sister in a magnificent chestnut tree. The tree is their home and a small town in the heart of the forest. They play in the great outdoors, uncover exciting secrets, and experience fantastic adventures together with their friends! The German-French series consists of 52 episodes and is aimed primarily at preschool-aged children. It focuses on a positive, child-friendly view of the forest as a habitat: The characters learn how important every animal, every plant, and every small natural phenomenon is to the ecosystem. Edmund the squirrel has a favorite spot, and that is on the thick branch of an old oak tree, his old oak tree. Edmund often makes himself comfortable there and draws and reads. When there is a thunderstorm one night, Edmund is very afraid for his favorite oak tree. And sure enough, the thunderstorm and its strong winds have broken off the thick branch.
